Botany department was established in 1951. This department is designed to provide an enriching EXPERIENCE : in plant sciences by providing all facilities like well equipped lab, museum, botanical garden and ventilated classrooms.

Department offers chemistry as main subject at undergraduate level.The degree in chemistry enables students to clearly communicate the results of scientific work in oral ,written and analytical reasoning as applied to scientific problems.Moreover students will get infinite number of carrier opportunities in industrial and educational field.
B.Sc. I Sem I
INORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
1 To help them to understand the atomic structure ,periodic properties and chemical bonding.
- Students will be able to know hybridization and structures of diatomic molecules.
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Students get a clear understanding about the nomenclature and classification, preparation and chemical properties of various organic compounds like alkanes,alkenes, alkynes and their derivatives.
PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY:
Students will get a clear understanding of evaluation of analytical data ,liquid and gaseous states and physical properties like optical activity, dipole moment etc.
PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY
To enable students to analyse various mixtures qualitatively.
B.Sc. I Sem II
INORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Complete understanding of elements of periodic table .It includes physical and chemical properties of s and p block elements .Conceptual knowledge of ionic solids.
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
To help them understand the stereochemistry of organic compounds i.e. isomerism , conformations and configurations.
PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY:
They will get to know about physical and chemical properties of solutions and colloids. They will have knowledge about chemical kinetics and catalysis.
PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY
Students will be able to determine melting and boiling points of organic compounds. They will also be able to calculate the viscosity coefficient and surface tension of various liquids.
B.Sc. II Sem III
INORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Students will come to know about physical and chemical properties ofd and f block elements .
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Students will get a clear understanding about the nomenclature and classification, preparation and chemical properties of various organic compounds like alcohols ,phenols ,aldehydes and ketones.
PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY:
Students will be able to understand the thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium.
PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY
Estimation of hardness of water ,TLC and determination of alkaline content of antacids .
B.Sc. II Sem IV
INORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Basic knowledge of coordination compounds ,acids and bases , non aqueous solvents will be imparted to students.
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Students get a clear understanding about the nomenclature and classification, preparation and chemical properties of various organic compounds like carboxylic acids and its derivatives, nitro and amine compounds.
PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY:
Students will get to know about phase equilibrium and electrochemistry.
PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY
Students will be able to identify the functional group in various organic compounds.
B.Sc. III Sem V
INORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Students will be given the knowledge of metal ligand bonding , thermodynamic , kinetic, spectral and magnetic properties of transition metals.
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Students will be introduced to complete concepts of of UV,IR and NMR spectroscopy . They will be given sufficient knowledge of organometallic compounds.
PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY:
Students will be introduced to concepts of Quantum Chemistry , rotational and vibrational spectroscopy.
PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY
Students will be able to synthesize various organic and inorganic compounds.
B.Sc. III Sem V
INORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Students will be given the knowledge of silicon ,phosphazenes bioinorganic chemistry and HSAB concept.
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY :
Students get a clear understanding about the nomenclature and classification, preparation and chemical properties of various organic compounds like heterocyclic compounds ,carbohydrates and amino acids.
PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY:
Students will get to know the Raman and Electronic Spectroscopy. They will also study different laws of crystallography under solid state.
PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY
Students will be able to learn how to determine strength of acid and bases with the help of instruments like conducometer ,pH-meter. They will also able to determine the molar refraction of liquids like methanol, ethanol and propanol.
