 CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT CELL

Government College Ropar has a dynamic Career Guidance and placement cell that organizes various Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement related activities. The cell with the help of District bureau of employment enterprises (DBEE), agencies and institutes organizes various interactive and knowledgeable workshops and seminars to enlighten the students about various career opportunities in public as well as private sector. Students are provided with valuable insights about various competitive exams that can help them in attaining a successful career. The placement cell organizes various “On” and “Off” campus drives with the help of various banks and companies like Bajaj finserv, etc. The cell has a dedicated team which helps the students to develop employment skills. The students are also imparted knowledge to improve their communication skills which is an integral element to prosper in professional world. Several industrial visits have also been arranged for the overall development of the students.

10-02-2024 Visit to Skill Development Centre, Museum of Rural Civilization of Punjab and the Museum of Water and Power Resources of North India, Punjab Agriculture University, Patiala Dr. Rupinder Kaur Dr. Prerna Dr. Jaspal Singh Punjab Government 9 200 This visit raised awareness about training programs for doing self-employment occupations and loans/loans provided by the government. It motivated students for the business of honey bee keeping and also informed about the training provided in the university. During this educational tour, the students visited the and got information from the officials in this regard.

09-02-2024 to 12-02-2024 Three Day Career Guidance and Counseling Workshop Ms. Gurvinder kaur Sohal Mr. Rameez Mirza Mr. Harjinder Singh Cheema Mr. Soni Goyal Punjab Government 10 250 a three-day workshop related to career guidance and placement was organized for the students so that the students can get employment by getting knowledge about their interest and occupation related to it.

27-Jun-22 Visit to incubation centers and Labs of the IIT Ropar Rajeev Ahuja, Director of IIT Ropar Punjab State Council for Science and Technology 5 50 Students attended the workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and participated in the Quiz competition that was organised at the end of the workshop.

Director SCOTT EDIL		 IIC 5 100 The students had a good learning experience by visiting a world class infrastructure company .The students were divided into three groups and they visited various departments where medicines were being prepared.They also visited quality control department and learnt about various advance instruments.
