Red Ribbon Club

Red Ribbon Club

The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a national movement initiated by the Government of India in schools and colleges to create awareness about HIV/AIDS, drug abuse prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices among youth.

The Red Ribbon symbol represents both the fight against HIV/AIDS and substance abuse. The initiative aims to instil compassion, social responsibility, and a spirit of voluntary service, especially through regular voluntary blood donation.

Objectives
  • To reduce new HIV infections among youth through awareness programmes.
  • To reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS.
  • To develop leadership, negotiation, and team-building skills among youth as peer educators and change agents.
