Each One Support One

Government College, Ropar, a prestigious institution of the region, not only admits students from economically weaker sections of society but also actively facilitates their higher education and career advancement through a job-oriented teaching approach.

Fully realising its institutional responsibility of empowering students, the College launched the initiative “Each One Support One” on 13 February 2014, taking forward the mission of education for all with renewed commitment.

A large number of students were unable to continue their education due to extreme financial constraints. To overcome this challenge, faculty members voluntarily extended support by contributing towards tuition fees, books, stationery, and other essential academic needs of meritorious but needy students.

To channelise this goodwill in a systematic and organised manner, the Principal and Council Members formally introduced the Each One Support One programme. Soon, socially conscious and philanthropic citizens of the city also joined hands and contributed generously to this noble cause.

How the Initiative Works
  • College staff members contribute voluntarily and anonymously through a donation box placed in the staff room.
  • Funds collected are utilised every year at the time of admissions to support financially weak but meritorious students.
  • The identity and details of beneficiaries are kept strictly confidential.
  • Government College, Ropar became the first Government College in Punjab to extend such structured financial assistance to deserving students.

By institutionalising Each One Support One, the College has ensured that financial hardship does not become a barrier to education. The initiative continues to strengthen the values of compassion, responsibility, and social commitment within the academic community.
