The Old Students Association (OSA) of Government College, Rupnagar functions with the Principal as its Patron and plays a vital role in strengthening the bond between the institution and its alumni.
The Association is administered by a President (senior-most alumni faculty member), Secretary, and Treasurer, supported by active alumni faculty members. Regular meetings are held to frame policies and plan activities that benefit students and the institution.
Distinguished alumni who have excelled in various walks of life are invited to guide and inspire current students. At present, the Association has more than 1000 registered members.
The OSA was formally established during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the College in 1995–96 on the initiative of Dr. V. S. Soni, then Principal of Government College Ropar. The Association was formed to promote cordial relations among alumni, faculty (existing and retired), and the institution.
The Association promotes academic, cultural, and sports activities, generates a professional “Brain Bank”, honours distinguished alumni, and supports needy students through educational initiatives.

The Association is governed by a General Body, Advisory Committee, and Central Executive Committee headed by the Principal as Ex-Officio Chief Patron.
Elections, powers, duties, quorum, amendments, finance, audits, and subscriptions are governed strictly as per the Constitution of OSA.
