Educational Visit Report: Exploring Flora in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh

An educational excursion to Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, was organized for a group of 50 B.Sc Medical students under the guidance of teachers, Ms. Manjit Kaur Manchanda, Ms. Pooja Verma, and Mr. Surinder Singh. The main purpose of this visit was to study the local flora of the region and to offer students the opportunity to explore new places and environments.
Kasauli, a picturesque hill station nestled amidst the Himalayan ranges, provided an ideal setting for this educational visit. Its lush green landscapes, diverse plant life, and serene atmosphere offered an excellent backdrop for students to learn about different types of flora.
The primary objective was to study the diverse flora of Kasauli and gain insights into the various plant species present in the region
Students participated in guided nature walks through the lush forests of Kasauli. During these walks, they observed and identified different types of trees, shrubs, and flowering plants.
Teachers conducted interactive sessions explaining the botanical features, medicinal uses, and ecological significance of various plants encountered during the visit.
In addition to flora, students also had the chance to spot local wildlife such as birds, insects, and small mammals, enhancing their understanding of ecosystem interactions.
