Home science department under the guidance of Principal Dr.Sant Surinder Pal Singh celebrated Deepawali under the theme “Green Diwali Clean Diwali”.Honourable CJM cum secretary DLSA Rupnagar inaugurated an exhibition of trendy diyas, rangoli colours and nutritious sweets on this occasion which was put up by the students of the department. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of the students in making healthy and nutritious sweets which he said are the need of the hour. A rangoli and bandhanwar making competition was also held. The students gave the message of safe and green Diwali by pledging against the burning of crackers. Prof Arvinder Kaur and Navneet Kaur of Home Science department guided the students for these celebrations. Prof Jagjit Singh, Prof.Jatinder Gill, Prof Pratibha Saini, Prof.Saravjeet Kaur Dr. Dalvinder Singh, Dr Nirmal Singh and Dr.Jatinder Kumar also graced the occasion.Prof.Anu Sharma, Ritu Sachdeva, Kuldeep Kaur, Loveleen, Ravneet and students too bought the diyas and rangoli colours and contributed to motivate the students in their efforts to earn from being creative.
