The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established in Government College Ropar on 01-04-2007.

During the first cycle of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation, the process was handled by the NAAC Steering Committee of the college consisting of Prof. B.S. Satyal as Coordinator with Dr. Karnail Singh, Prof. Inderjeet Singh and Prof. Seema Saini as members.

The college was accredited with B++ Grade with CGPA 82.00 in the first cycle of accreditation, valid from 16 February 2004 to 15 February 2009.

Thereafter, in accordance with NAAC guidelines, the IQAC took over responsibilities related to accreditation as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. The IQAC has since developed a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in institutional performance.
